Fraser Stryker Awards Diversity Scholarships
Fraser Stryker is pleased to announce the recipients of its college-level Diversity Scholarship Program. Chuma Nnawulezi from Creighton Preparatory School will be attending Xavier University and Cristian Gonzalez from Northwest High School will be attending University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Fraser Stryker wants to help talented students from diverse backgrounds who need financial help to fulfill their dream of working in the legal field. This program, started in 2006, provides financial aid for college-bound students and also give Fraser Stryker Scholars the opportunity to learn about the practice of law by working in the firm during the summer months. Each scholarship is in the amount of $2,500 per academic year.
Chuma Nnawulezi is a member of Creighton Prep Operation Others, Green Circle, Choir, Forensics Team and Varsity Soccer. His honors and achievements include Ignatius Award for Outstanding Leadership, National History Day Semi-Finalist and Second Honors. His intended university major is African-American and African Studies before entering law school.
Cristian Gonzalez is a member of the Academy of Finance, Varsity Soccer, Future Business Leaders of America and Parent/Teacher Student Organization. His honors and achievements include being on the Northwest Honor Roll, Northwest 1st Place Super Seniors, Kroc Center Latino Achievement Award, Our lady of Guadalupe Church Serra Mass Service Award and United States Hispanic Leadership Institute Certificate of Achievement. His intended university major is pre-law / legal studies.
Fraser Stryker hosted a reception for the scholarship recipients, their families, employees of the law firm, and other invited guests on Thursday, May 12, 2011, at 5:00 p.m. in the OPPD Atrium at 444 South 16th Street.
