Fraser Stryker recruits highly-motivated individuals
with proven academic success who seek a fulfilling
law practice in the Midwest. We have a simple philosophy:
to provide clients with the highest quality of personalized
services in an expeditious and cost-effective manner.
Our approach has resulted in a loyal clientele which
forms the basis for the Firm's continued growth.
Fraser Stryker clients find what they are looking
for—lawyers and staff who care about their
clients and utilize an efficient, team-oriented
approach. We combine the powerful dynamics of a
highly-reputable 100-plus-year-old law firm with
the energy from a demographically diverse and youthful
group of lawyers.
In hiring new lawyers
and summer associates, the Firm emphasizes academic
achievement, the ability to communicate effectively,
and the drive to handle significant responsibilities
early in their careers. The Firm's compensation
plan encourages the delegation of work to attorneys
with expertise and immediate availability to handle
a given matter, creating a demand for lawyers
who can assume first-string duties from the start.
This approach results in maximum personal satisfaction
throughout a lawyer's career. Fraser Stryker also
was the first firm in this area to adopt a formal
alternate work schedule policy.
The Firm's compensation package is at or near
the top of the market in all categories. In addition
to salary, Fraser Stryker offers numerous other
benefits, including a bonus program; health, life,
dental, and disability insurance coverage; 401(k)
and pension and profit sharing plans; and family
memberships for all employees at one of the country's
top zoos, Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. We offer a
generous study stipend for new associates who
are preparing to take the bar exam. The Firm also
provides reimbursement for bar exam sitting fees
and the cost of a review course. Attorneys are
reimbursed for annual memberships in both social
and health/athletic clubs, bar association dues
and expenses, and professional entertainment expenses.
We offer an on-site exercise facility for our
attorneys. The Firm also encourages attendance
at CLE programs, and pays for travel and lodging
costs for periodic out-of-state seminars.
Most Fraser Stryker attorneys participated in
the Firm's summer associate program. This program
is designed to provide exposure to diverse, substantive
legal areas and the individual practice styles
of many attorneys. Summer associates neither choose
nor are assigned a particular practice area as
the Firm encourages them to explore a wide variety
of opportunities. Our summer associates work closely
with and gain practical experience from Fraser
Stryker attorneys. The Firm's summer associates
have opportunities for client contact and are
encouraged to attend depositions, trials, and
business transactions. The program facilitates
interaction among summer associates, associates,
and partners during many Firm social activities.
The
Firm considers summer associate and associate
training a high priority. Associates are given
informal professional evaluations on a day-to-day
basis by the partners and senior associates with
whom they work. A formal associate evaluation
occurs semi-annually. Each associate is assigned
to a "mentor"; the mentoring program is designed
to facilitate the associate's professional and
social integration into the Firm. Mentors also
help ensure that the associates receive projects
in their areas of interest.
