Katherine A. Rehan

Katherine A. (Katy) Rehan’s law practice is concentrated around business and corporate law, assisting clients with business transactions, contractual needs, real estate, data privacy, cybersecurity, and intellectual property matters.

As a business and corporate law attorney, Katy values being a confidant for her clients, using her training and expertise to counsel them through some of life’s biggest decisions. Her clients often have multiple business ventures and need assistance in a variety of areas. With a forward-thinking, entrepreneurial mindset, Katy works collaboratively with business owners, large and small, to help them succeed.

Striving to make each client feel like they are her only client, Katy gives 110% of herself to each matter. She understands that clients want an attorney who listens, cares about their individual needs and will put themselves in the shoes of their clients. Katy takes pride in being extremely responsive to client requests and working diligently toward helping clients achieve their goals.

Katy earned a Juris Doctor from the Valparaiso University School of Law, and two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Political Science from the University of Iowa. When she is not working for her clients, Katy loves doing DIY home projects, crafting, and interior design. She also loves listening to podcasts about real estate investing, which has assisted her in representing many clients who invest in real estate.

Major Transactions

• Assisted a restaurant group in purchasing all the assets of a large bar and restaurant in the Chicago suburbs and facilitated obtaining their liquor license and gaming license.  
• Assisted an international institution in assessing their risk management procedures as it applies to outside counsel and implementing uniform procedures throughout the United States.
• Negotiated a six-figure commercial lease in a high rise in downtown Chicago on behalf of commercial tenants and secured favorable terms in the event they exercise an option to renew the lease for an additional term.
• Assisted in setting up a limited partnership for the purpose of purchasing an apartment building for a group of investors.

Successful Verdicts & Settlements

• Obtained a favorable result for shareholders involved in a dispute related to a noncompete agreement and work product.
