Fraser Stryker partner Joseph Meusey is to speak at “Legal Ethics for Everyday Practice,” a half-day live seminar to be held on December 15, 2011, at the Omaha Marriott. Mr. Meusey’s topic is “Practices That Prevent Legal Malpractice Claims” and he will consider the subjects:

  • How long do I keep the closed case file?
  • What must be done when a lawyer enters or leaves the firm?
  • What are the electronic communications challenges?
  • Can an attorney secretly record conversations?

Mr. Meusey co-authored “Legal Malpractice Law State of Nebraska” for the National Survey of Legal Malpractice Law of the ABA Professional Liability Committee. He was an instructor at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine from 1980-2000. Mr. Meusey is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, International Society of Barristers (fellow and Board of Governors), TAGLaw International Association (co-chair, Litigation Section), Nebraska Defense Counsel (current member), Nebraska Association of Trial Attorneys (past president), and the Defense Research Institute (current member).

Mr. Meusey has been listed in all editions of The Best Lawyers of America, currently in the sections of Bet-the-Company Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Legal Malpractice Law, and Personal Injury Litigation—Defendants.
