Fraser Stryker PC LLO is proud to have had the opportunity to be a sponsor of the 2014 Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) Nebraska Conference [http://www.shrm-ne.org/Conference.aspx/] held September 11-12 at the CenturyLink Center in Omaha, Nebraska.
Fraser Stryker partner Kate Dittrick presented on the second day of the conference on the following topic “Managing President Obama’s Mandate to Increase Overtime Eligibility.”
Kate addressed the issue that employers have long struggled through the nebulous regulations governing overtime eligibility. In March, President Barack Obama directed the Department of Labor to update and modernize overtime regulations to expand the number of workers eligible for overtime pay.
During her session, Kate reviewed the current laws regarding overtime exemptions, the new mandate from President Obama, the means and rationale for the directed change, and finally shared recommendations on the steps employers can take to prepare for the change.
Kathryn A. Dittrick‘s area of practice is labor and employment law. She specializes in providing advice and counsel to employers with an expertise in wage and hour issues, reviewing employee handbooks and personnel policies, conducting managerial training, and litigating employment discrimination and wage and hour cases.
