Emily Langdon has dedicated her law practice to counseling business owners and managers on health and welfare benefits, qualified and nonqualified retirement plans, equity incentive plans, and benefits issues related to mergers, acquisitions, and corporate transactions. She has considerable experience advising clients on implementing and operating multiple employer welfare arrangements (MEWAs) and employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs).
Emily’s path to becoming an ERISA and employee benefits attorney began in 2008, when she graduated from law school during the aftermath of the Enron scandal. Early in her career, she was tasked with revising deferred compensation plans to comply with Section 409A requirements. She quickly discovered a passion for this highly specialized area of law, which shaped the direction of her practice.
For Emily, one of the most rewarding aspects of her work is helping clients achieve their goals while mitigating risk. She enjoys seeing businesses succeed and helping develop employee benefit plans that allow employees to share in that success.
Outside of her legal practice, Emily’s dedication and determination extend to her passion for ultrarunning. The endurance required for long-distance running reflects her commitment and perseverance, while also giving her valuable time to step away from work and recharge.
At Fraser Stryker, Emily has gained experience working with clients across a wide range of industries. This exposure has allowed her to expand her practice, deepen her experience, and build recognition for her work on a national level.
