2024 Summer Associate Feature: McKayla Sanders, Creighton University School of Law
At Fraser Stryker, we believe that the foundation of a successful legal career starts with the relationships you build and the experience you receive during law school. Our twelve-week Summer Associate Program is designed to offer first and second-year law students the chance to immerse themselves in the dynamic practice of law while receiving invaluable support and mentorship to further both their professional and personal growth.
Empower Your Legal Journey
Designed as a “choose your own adventure” style journey, allowing you to explore your interests while also being exposed to areas of law you may not have considered before. You’ll experience firsthand what it’s like to work in a full-service law firm by attending client meetings and tours, depositions, hearings, and trials. This immersive, practical exposure gives you a clear understanding of what it means to be a first-year associate at Fraser Stryker.
Mentorship That Matters
Each summer associate is paired with experienced mentors who offer continuous feedback, fostering both legal skill development and growth in essential soft skills, such as time management, client communication and development, negotiation tactics, and networking. From informal advice to structured evaluations, our mentorship program ensures you are prepared for the next steps in your legal career.
Building Relationships Beyond the Office
A successful career isn’t just about legal knowledge—it’s also about the relationships you build. Through a range of social events and casual gatherings, you’ll get to know our team on a personal level and build camaraderie with your fellow summer associates. These connections will help you feel like part of the Fraser Stryker family while giving you a deeper understanding of our Firm’s collaborative culture.
Meaningful Community Involvement
Giving back to the communities we serve is a central piece of our Firm’s values. As a summer associate, you’ll have the chance to participate in pro bono work, volunteer alongside our team at organizations like Habitat for Humanity, and visit local nonprofits like the nationally recognized Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium or the Steelhouse Omaha.
These opportunities allow you to make a positive impact during your time at Fraser Stryker while demonstrating the power that community service can have on your legal career.
Your Future Starts Here
