Fraser Stryker welcomed another outstanding class of talented law students into our 2025 Summer Associate program. In this spotlight, we’re excited to share the experiences and insights of one of this year’s 1L participants, Cooper Nally. Before beginning his legal studies at Creighton University School of Law, Cooper served as a District Technician for the Nodaway County Soil & Water NRCS, working alongside farmers and landowners to advance sustainable practices.
Cooper holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, cum laude, with a minor in Sports Psychology from Northwest Missouri State University. He was inducted into Psi Chi, the International Honor Society in Psychology, and contributed to campus life as a Peer Mentor and SOAR Leader for the Student Success Center.
Q: What skills did you strengthen most during your time here, legal or otherwise?.
A: I think being here has definitely strengthened my legal skills, I didn’t have any experience working in the legal field coming in. I got a lot of experience doing a lot of different things. I also think that I grew a lot this summer professionally and personally as well and I think that everyone here at Fraser has helped me grow in every aspect.
Q: How did working directly with clients (or on client matters) impact your understanding of legal practice?
A: Working directly with clients and on client matters was the most impactful part of this experience for me. It really makes everything you’re working on that much more meaningful when you think about how this affects real people and real businesses. It really made me feel good knowing that I was helping someone or someone’s business to succeed or be in a better place, even if it was in small ways.
Q: What was your favorite social or out-of-office experience this summer, and what made it memorable?
A: My favorite social or out-of-office experience this summer was probably going to the zoo. The zoo is just a really fun place to go but getting to know the other associates and attorneys better and in a more personable space was great.
Q: Looking back, what’s one piece of advice you’d give yourself at the start of the summer?
A: One piece of advice I’d give myself at the start of the summer is to get as many different projects as possible right off the bat and spend more time getting to know all of the attorneys and partners by stopping by different offices every day.
