
Emma Collins
A student at the University of Iowa College of Law, Emma Collins is a member of the Organization of Women Law Students and Staff (OWLSS). During her first year, she received both the Faculty Award for Academic Excellence in Contracts and the Dean’s Award for Academic Excellence in Introduction to Intellectual Property. In her second year, Emma competed as a Student Advocate with Iowa Law Moot Court, earning Appellate Advocacy I honors as both a 4th Place Overall Advocate and 4th Place Brief Writer. She also served as a Writing Center Tutor throughout the academic year. Emma currently serves as a Note & Comment Editor for the Journal of Gender, Race and Justice and will continue in that role through her anticipated graduation in December 2026. In the fall of 2026, she will extern with a Federal Judge, further expanding her experience in legal research and judicial process.
Before law school, Emma graduated from the University of Nebraska–Kearney with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, with honors. During her undergraduate studies, she volunteered as a Student Conduct Board Officer for the University’s Student Affairs Office and worked as a Medical Scribe for the Kearney HelpCare Clinic. Emma also gained legal experience as a Legal Administrative Assistant for Fraser Stryker prior to starting law school.

Ellen Rogers
A student at Creighton University School of Law, Ellen Rogers is a member of Law Ambassadors and previously participated in the Women’s Law Student Association. She also serves as a mentor to first-year law students, supporting them as they transition into law school and develop their academic skills. Ellen remains actively engaged in the law school community and enjoys spending time outside of class practicing yoga and reading.
Before starting law school, Ellen gained experience working in the education field. She graduated from the College of the Holy Cross with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, cum laude. During her undergraduate studies, she was named to the Dean’s List with First Honors each semester and was selected as one of 100 student members of the College Honors Program. Ellen also served as a New Student Orientation Leader, a Counseling Outreach Peer Educators (COPE) Officer, and worked as a Legal Intern for the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.

Sam Spethman
Sam Spethman joins Fraser Stryker as a law student at the University of Nebraska College of Law, where he serves as Membership Chair for Moot Court and is an Inclusive Leadership Fellow. Sam previously served as Vice Dean of Delta Theta Phi. He is also a Teaching Assistant for Legislation and Regulation and previously served as a Teaching Assistant for Legal Analysis, Writing, and Research. Sam was the recipient of the McGrath North Mullin & Kratz Legal Writing Award and won the Allen Moot Court Competition during the 2025–2026 academic year.
Prior to law school, Sam earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Communication Studies, with a minor in Public Policy Analysis, from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, where he graduated as a Chancellor’s Scholar. During his undergraduate studies, he was actively involved in student leadership, serving in multiple roles within the Association of Students of the University of Nebraska and as Recruitment Chair for the Mortar Board Honor Society.
About the Summer Associate Program
The Fraser Stryker Summer Associate program is designed to provide law students with exposure to diverse, substantive legal areas, as well as the individual practice styles of various attorneys. Fraser Stryker provides our Summer Associates with real-world experience, feedback, and mentoring, and time devoted to community involvement.
