Melanie Miller
Joining Fraser Stryker from the University of Nebraska College of Law, Melanie Miller was the Space, Cyber & Telecommunications 1L Chair and a member of the Women’s Law Caucus, serving as the Auction Chair.
Melanie attended the University of Northern Iowa, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology, cum laude. While a student, she was a Presidential Honors Scholar, scholarship athlete on UNI’s Division 1 Women’s Soccer Team, and served as the Team Coordinator for the UNI Women’s Club Soccer Team. During her free time, Melanie participated in fundraisers for the University of Iowa Stead Family Children’s Hospital.
Anthony (Tony) Thies
A student at Creighton University School of Law, Tony is the Vice President of the Problem Direction for the 2024 Moot Court Competition and Student Articles Editor on Volume 58 of the Creighton Law Review. His student article is being published in Volume 57 of the Creighton Law Review. He is a part of the current 3L Trial Team after winning the 2L Trial Team Competition and Outstanding Oralist Award. Tony is also a member of the Labor & Employment Law Society, the Sports & Entertainment Law Society, the American Constitution Society, and the Rural Law Society.
Prior to starting law school, he spent several years as a Secondary Education Teacher, focusing on history, geography, government, and psychology/sociology. During that time, Tony coached basketball, football, soccer, golf, and the Mock Trial team. Tony graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Secondary Education-Social Sciences/Coaching, and was on the Dean’s List for several semesters.
Daniel Ugarte
Attending the University of Nebraska College of Law, Daniel is a member of the UNL Chapters of the Hispanic Law Student Association, Asian Pacific American Law Student Association, and Multicultural Legal Society. He stays engaged with the community through his role as a Student Intern at the First Responders Foundation and volunteer work at Sienna Francis House.
While attending the University of Nebraska-Omaha, Daniel completed his Bachelor of Science, magna cum laude, in Criminal Justice, with a minor in Psychology, as well as a Master of Science in Criminal Justice. While attending UNO, he was a member of the Alpha Phi Sigma Criminal Justice Honors Society, Psi Chi Psychology Honors Society, and was on the Dean’s List all semesters.
Isabella Washka (she/her)
A student at Creighton University School of Law, Isabella Washka (she/her) is a Dean’s Fellow Recipient, the Public Relations Officer for the Latino Law Student Association, member of the Labor and Employment Law Society, 2L mentor, and 2L BARBRI Representative. Isabella will also be the Managing Editor for the Creighton Law Review during the 2024-2025 school year.
Isabella graduated from Morehead State University with a Bachelor of Business Administration, summa cum laude, majoring in Marketing. While at Morehead, she received several honors, including Women’s Scholar Athlete of the Year, Outstanding Marketing Student of the Year, and Women’s Golf Coaches Association All-American Scholar. She was on the Dean’s List all four years and was a member of the Women’s Golf Team, Student Athlete Advisory Committee (Women’s Golf Representative), and Phi Sigma Pi Honor Fraternity, serving as Vice President and Service Chair.

The Fraser Stryker Summer Associate program is designed to provide law students with exposure to diverse, substantive legal areas, as well as the individual practice styles of various attorneys. Fraser Stryker provides our Summer Associates with real-world experience, feedback and mentoring, and time devoted to community involvement.
